Policies

  • Booking policy

Bookings can be made directly via email (theserenityedit@hotmail.com), the booking form or phone/WhatsApp (07525 945237). Please do not show up without prior confirmation as this is a home-based treatment room.

  • No walk-ins

As I work from home, I’m unable to accept walk-ins without prior confirmation.

  • Payment

Payment is taken after your treatment. I accept payment via cash, card or bank transfer, whichever is most convenient for you.

  • Privacy and confidentiality

All personal information shared during the booking process is kept completely confidential and will only be used to manage your appointment.

  • Changes to booking policy

I reserve the right to change or update the policy. Any changes will be communicated in advance.

  • Complaints policy

If you have any issues, please get in touch with me ASAP so we can discuss this.

You may be offered advice or a free check-up appointment to assess the issue and work together to identify a resolution.

  • Treatments for 16-18 year olds

    Consent

Written parental/guardian consent is required and a parent/guardian must attend the first consultation.

    Confidentiality and safeguarding

Confidentiality is respected but safeguarding concerns will be reported.

  • Health history and right to refuse treatment

    Health history

Your comfort and safety are my top priorities. Please let me know if you have any allergies, physical conditions, disabilities or if you are pregnant. A consultation card will be completed before your first appointment commences.

If you feel any discomfort or experience any unusual symptoms during your treatment, please inform me straight away.

    Right to refuse service

The Serenity Edit reserves the right to refuse treatments to anyone who is intoxicated, behaving inappropriately or whose health condition may affect the outcome or safety of the treatment.

  • Your appointment

Please arrive on time or up to 10 minutes early for your appointment. If you are early, and as treatments take place in a home treatment studio, please message me and wait until I respond as I may still be with another client. I am usually ready to begin around 10 minutes before your scheduled time.

I understand that life happens and unforeseen delays may occur such as traffic. If you are running late, please contact me as soon as possible and I will always try my best to accommodate you. Arriving late may reduce your treatment time and affect your overall experience.

If you are more than 15 minutes late, unfortunately I won’t be able to carry out your treatment and it will be considered a ‘no-show’ appointment, where 50% of the full treatment price will be required.

Where possible, please arrive without makeup.

  • Ear piercing policy (clients aged 8 years and older)

    Eligibility

Ear piercing services are available for clients aged 8 years and older only.

Proof of age may be requested at my discretion.

    Parent/guardian consent

Clients under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

The accompanying adult must provide valid identification and sign all consent forms before any service is carried out.

The parent/guardian must remain present during the entire appointment.

    Health & Safety Requirements

Clients (and the parent/guardian) must complete a medical and consent form prior to the piercing.

Any relevant medical conditions (such as bleeding disorders, allergies, skin conditions or recent vaccinations) must be disclosed.

I reserve the right to decline service if the piercing is deemed unsafe or inappropriate for the client.

    Behaviour and cooperation

For the safety of the child, ear piercing will only be performed if they are calm, cooperative and able to follow instructions.

If the child becomes distressed or unable to sit still, I may have to stop or refuse the service.

    Hygiene and equipment

All equipment used is sterilised or single-use and disposed of immediately after the service.

Proper hygiene standards are strictly followed to minimise risks of infection.

    Aftercare responsibility

Aftercare instructions will be provided verbally and in writing.

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure the child follows aftercare guidance to reduce the risk of complications.

The Serenity Edit is not liable for issues resulting from improper aftercare, touching or removal of jewellery before healing.

    Risks and limitations

The client (and parent/guardian) acknowledges that ear piercing carries inherent risks, including infection, irritation, allergic reactions and improper healing.

I will not perform piercings in areas that appear unsuitable (for example, signs of infection, trauma or anatomical limitations).

    Refunds and re-piercing

Piercing fees cover the service and jewellery only. No refunds are issued once the service has been completed.

Re-piercing due to premature removal, improper care or client interference may incur additional charges.

    Agreement

By attending the appointment, the parent/guardian and child acknowledge they have read, understood and agree to these terms and conditions.
